- has been altered or modified
- has been over pressurised due to a blocked thermostat, faulty radiator cap or blown cylinder head gasket

Radiator Installation Guide
- The cooling system is inspected prior to removal of the old radiator to determine the root cause of the radiator failure, if the vehicle can safely be run the cooling system should tested for the presence of stray current in the coolant
- The cooling system is drained of all coolant
- The entire cooling system including the engine water jackets and heater core are thoroughly cleaned by power flushing and if necessary the use of an approved cooling system flush. The cooling system must be free of all coolant residue, metal deposits, sludge or any other containments
- The new radiator is fitted and the cooling system is filled with a coolant approved by the vehicle manufacturer. Any water used is distilled, demineralised or reverse osmosis.
- The vehicle is brought up to operating temperature, air locks are bled from the coolant and the entire cooling system, including the radiator cap are verified to be in line with the vehicle manufacturers specifications and tested for correct operation and pressure tested
- A second stray current test is performed (target reading is under 50mV), any repairs are undertaken as required
